If you need to customize Forgejo, the documentation wasn't clear to me so here is how I customized the font:

1. Know the CustomPath (by default, $AppWorkPath/custom or /var/lib/forgejo/custom/ if using the binary)
2. Create a file in the CustomPath ./public/assets/css/custom.css
3. Add :root { --font-proportional: "Custom Font" !important; }
4. This makes the file available at your.git.site/assets/css/custom.css but now you need to tell browsers about this stylesheet.
5. Create a new file at ./templates/custom/header.tmpl
6. Add <link rel="stylesheet" href="/assets/css/custom.css">
7. Restart Forgejo then force reload the page and you should be all set!
